Balance

As soon as there was nothing, there was something.
As soon as there was light, there was dark.
As soon as there was man there was woman.
We talk of balance.
Then we talk of the single one event of creation.
The creation was always to be, for
As soon as there was nothing, there had to be something.
Something born from nothing
Light born from within dark
Man born from a woman
The man born from the bond of man and woman
The coalition of light and dark
Bringing forth something from nothing.

Nearly over

Hi.
I've been enjoying some experimental photography recently, here's one of my favourite outcomes

A dead rabbit I found, when I went back too it in the morning something had eaten its head so it wasn't as pretty a picture that I had hoped for but nevertheless decided to give it a respectful send off.

A friend we made in the woods for a bit enjoying the torchlight.
Just doing a bit of decorating

A piece that's "finished" until college is finished then it's getting insane.

The first painting I've sold!

The face of my preggers snake lady, think I love her a little bit.

The end :) for now.

Painting progress

Hello, I haven't posted anything for too long really that's art related and now that I am I'm on a computor with no pictures on other than from today on my camera. So! This is the beginning of a frame for a sculpture I'm making (nailed it all to the right, and at first wrong, places myself!): And this is a paintnig in progress, my favourite painting so far actually :) The end. I'll put more on when I'm at the right computor. x

Mild political rant

Mr William Hague quite nicely pointed out this morning on the news that the point of the airstrikes we are participating in are not to remove Gadaffi... Well that's fantastic, lets destroy the country, take away their airforce, (which Libya has a right to own,) and leave the country defenceless. But then once we've done that decide the whole point of weakening them is to strengthen a bond and to allow Libya to decide its future for itself.... urm... ok. MAYBE before this we should of cleared it up a little for the Libyans who think Gadaffi is a saint, show the images and videos of his supporters shooting at ambulances and hanging the green and white colours over the buildings covered in bullet holes. We are creating a war by attacking without communicating properly to the people of the country we are attacking!! Am I an idiot for thinking this? Am i being naive? Because it seems to me we run our state of affairs without much thought to the actual effect they have! And thats not just with Libya. I never paid much attention to how the country was ran, I trusted people to do their jobs... especially when in their campaigns they seem so keen to do them. Anyway, I'll put some paintings up in a minute in a new post. x

Times are changing.

My hands are stained Seasons are changing, when the sky shows its face behind the cloud we are treated to its sunsets in which no camera can fully capture and nothing can ever replicate the feeling of witnessing natural beauty within the veil held above our heads. The moon has been beaming for the past few nights too, its now been quite heavily encorporated into my artwork and new painting which I'm still drawing compositions and ideas for.
Mainly being enchanted by mother nature and how within the Ancient Greeks nature and creator was the Goddess Gaia, a default mother. She was usually portrayed as pregnant, constantly pregnant with creativity, constantly vulnerable, beautiful, mysterious and giving.

This is a photoshop peice still in process currently called Moonbelly Morpheus (why not).
And i tried my hand at mud modelling with Martina, attempt number one, going to give her arms and a general edit tomorrow.
I also tried to portray my idea of natures constant state of creative pregnancy by making my ivy plant pregnant but it ended up looking like a fancy caterpillar so there will be a more calculated attempt two in this coming week.
And this was the product of me being very ill and unable to stand up for very long so stayed in bed with tinfoil, there are two others of which one I used in moonbelly.Nicola Hicks is a fantastic drawer and sculptor, reading up about her now and I'm extremely happy I've come across her, hugely inspirational and has made me promise myself to give more time to drawing, as thats what I love doing and what introduced me into the world of art in the first place.

Tish tash tosh

Fog that surrounded Middlesbrough.

A picture for my new topic in Art called: human.

Currently exploring communication, probably move on next week to inhumane ways.

My birthday: Colin the Caterpillar cake= winner.

Another thing for my project on communication. A scanned in a drawing, i then inversed and put special effects on.
From my last project in fashion/textiles. It doesn't actually get dark at the bottom.
It's just my bad documentation skills.

The eyes and the mouth are key aspects in judging someones mood and for what to look at or listen to when face to face in order to fully understand what the person is saying.

Or at least i think so.

Martina I'm sorry I'm missing thanksgiving :( me and Ryan promise to fulfill our consolation of cooking you a meal at your house one day!!!

Miss you, obviously.

Textile final peice.

It's based on ivy and man (though admittedly it doesnt look much like ivy) both striving forth to survival without looking around to see what they are doing to what they need to survive and the destruction they cause.
It shows this by not allowing the wearer to see sideways, like wearing blinkers.
Made from see through fabric with a cut in ivy patter aswell as died with inks, tissue paper treated in a similar manner but also with bleach. A silk fabric whcih had wax dripped on in an ivy pattern and all put together to create this head peice that is fragile yet very hard to take off.
Showing the fragility between us and the unknown truth and yet that to see this and to be fully aware it recquires effort and understanding.
Anywho, I turn 20 tomorrow! I'm getting an eisel!!!!!! Very exciting. x
